Jerry Russell Krisle -- Cope - The Times and Democrat

Jerry was the husband of Margaret Dale Krisle.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home Chapel, with Jason Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Christopher Krisle, Hunter Kemmerlin, Jase Krisle, Jacob Krisle, Lane Krisle and Steve Myers.Jerry was a son of the late Cleburn Elvis Krisle and Mary Margaret Bollinger Krisle. After graduating from high school, Jerry joined the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jerry played professional football in the NFL as a running back with the Philadelphia Eagles. Jerry later began his long distinguished career with the J.C. Penney Company, where he served as store manager at numerous locations. He was very successful with J.C. Penney, and received the Presidents Cup award in 1980 and the South East Regional award in 1994 when he was the store manager in Orangeburg. Jerry loved to travel, play golf and the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, and was the hunt master and honorary lifetime member with the Pine Barren Hunt Club in Ridgeland. Jerry was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his family.Survivors include his wife of the home; daughters, Kim Krisle and Sherri Krisle; sons, Russ Krisle (Lorrinda) and Jason Krisle (Gretchen); grandchildren, Christopher Krisle, Tyler Krisle, Hunter Kemmerlin, Jase Krisle, Jacob Krisle, Lane Krisle, Meghan Krisle and Ansley Newman; great-grandchildren, Brody Krisle, Gavin Krisle and Aubrey Bosco; sisters, Connie Swann, Peggy Hooper, Martha Tate, Betty Stewart, Jane Covington, Paulette Burroughs and Susan Atchley; brother, Mike Krisle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born on July 24, 1930 to Tom and Geneva (Howell) Johnson at Stuart, OK.On August 14, 1947 she married Albert William (AW) Wilson at Stuart OK; then later marrying Anton (Tony) Gerhardt at Liberal, KS in 1977. Jean attended school at Stuart, Oklahoma, later moving to Dalhart, TX & Amarillo, TX before moving to Liberal, KS. She went to work as a waitress at the Holiday Inn in Liberal, which later became the Liberal Inn until her retirement in 2009. She loved cooking for her family and friends and liked a clean home. Jean is survived by her husband Tony of Liberal, KS; Two Sons - Mark Wilson and wife Karen of Liberal, KS; Randy Wilson and wife Sally of Amarillo, TX; Four Grandsons,-Jarrett Wilson and wife Destiny of Denton, TX; Dustin Wilson of Shawnee, KS; Chad Wilson and wife Jasa Marsh of Ft. Collins, CO; Jesse Wilson of Liberal, KS; One Great Granddaughter- Jalie Marsh; One Brother- Arvile Johnson of McAlister, OK; Two Sisters - Ray Wright of the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area, and Catherine Haliburton of McAlister, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.Visitation will be 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Miller Mortuary with the family present from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.    Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Central Christian Church with Pastor Chuck Scroggs officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the Faith Tabernacle or Central Christian Church.Condolences can be sent to the family through Imogene's tribute webpage at www.millermortuary.net.
